Today is my last day at work for now. As of 7pm today, I will officially be working on the recalls full-time. I will also officially be without a job and any sort of structure in my life. I won’t have a normal income, and I will have anything but a normal schedule. I could be in a random part of the state next week, and not even know it until minutes before I leave.
I’m throwing myself into a life of the unknown… yet again. I’ve done this a lot in the past year, so it’s becoming the norm for me. I’m getting pretty good at handling this sort of lifestyle. In fact, although it can be stressful and crazy at times, I actually find it quite exciting.
I guess what I’m trying to stay is that I’m extremely excited and pumped up to have the chance to do this! Check back daily for updates on where I am and what I’m doing to help the recall efforts.

I received the following e-mail from United Wisconsin at 6:51pm today:
This number will be released to the public soon, but as supporter of United Wisconsin, we wanted you to be among the first to know – you collected over 300,000 signatures to recall Scott Walker in the first 12 days!
The energy and enthusiasm for this recall has been incredible. Over 300,000 signatures in 12 days – that is over 1,040 signatures an hour!
Scott Walker has taken to the airwaves, supported by millions in corporate cash, to defend his record of job loss and full-scale assault on Wisconsin’s institutions and values. In all 72 counties, people are seeing through Walker’s deceptions and are moving to take back our state.
This is an amazing accomplishment, and we need you to keep this grassroots movement going – we have a long way to go before Walker is out of office.
Please visit our website today to download the petition to collect more signatures, sign up to volunteer, get United Wisconsin signs, stickers and t-shirts, and make a contribution to help fuel our efforts for the coming weeks and months.
Thank you for all you have done to reach this important milestone. 50 Days to go!

I would like to say thank you to those of you who have donated money to help make it possible for me to work towards putting all of my time and effort into the recall effort, as well as the people providing encouraging words that help keep me motivated. It is much appreciated

I’ve been doing all I can for the recalls while working at my current job, but I can’t wait to start working on the recall effort full time. Wednesday will be my last day on the schedule at work. Thursday I will be heading down to Brodhead with at least one other circulator where I hear people are eager to sign, but there aren’t enough petitions being circulated. The plan is to have a drive-through, and possibly canvass at houses with recall Walker signs in the yard. I will then, most likely, be heading to the Milwaukee area for a few days starting on Friday because I hear they also need more people circulating petitions there, as well.
If anybody knows of any places near Madison or Milwaukee that are in need of more petition circulators, please let me know. I will see what I can do about either going there myself, or rounding up other folks who can help out.

Those of us out collecting signatures literally get shit on all day by passerbys. Some people just shake their heads in disgust. Others give us a thumbs down. Others give us the middle finger.
These ones are easy to ignore.
But there’s the people who decide to open their mouths. Some of them just shout at us angrily with their windows rolled up, so we can’t even hear what they’re saying. Others roll their windows down and shout at us right before they speed away.
Since I’ve started getting signatures, I’ve been called an idiot, a loser, and stupid more than I ever have in my entire life. Some people have told me that I should be digsusted with myself, that I’m greedy, and that I should go to hell. My personal favorite, and the one I hear most is: “get a job!” One, I actually do have a job. Two, part of the reason we’re recalling Walker is because he’s causing the state of Wisconsin to lose thousands of jobs.
And then there’s the people who like to talk about how awesome Walker is… like they’re going to convince those of us standing on a street corner collecting signatures out in the cold for hours on end that Walker is actually a good person. I often hear “Walker for president” and “Walker is the BEST governor EVER!”
Although we get a lot of negative comments, the positive comments far outweigh them, and that helps keep our hopes up. So, if you see someone out collecting signatures, please give them a little encouragement. Even a simple thank you does wonders.

1:45am – Just had a worker at Boston Store ask me to move to the side of the entrance instead of directly in front. Letting me stay!
2:00am – Getting lots of thank yous from people who have already signed. Keep the love comin’! It’s keepin’ me warm out in the cold!

Total signatures collected today: 70
Total signatures collected since November 15th: 170
Total hours of sleep in the past day: 0
Totally worth it.
(Signature totals are not combined totals for Walker and Kleefisch. Today I collected 70 signatures for Walker, and 70 for Kleefish.)
